I read during the summer and this is a book that I read recently that I posted to a facebook group I belong to. I look forward to talking about and sharing this book with my future classroom. I really like the historical research and the dual main characters. They tell the story of a young boy and girl whose lives intersect and reconnect. Both characters pursue their desire to be taken seriously and face the consequences nobly and admirably. You can't help but get caught up in this historical fiction of the Civil War.
